SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES
For years, Learfield Sports has placed a tremendous emphasis on the unprecedented value of making a difference in our communities.  Now, more than ever, the company has been taking significant strides to bolster its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth community of its corporate headquarters, as well as in the more than 50 communities where the company has offices.
The goal is to enable all Learfield Sports' employees the opportunity to serve regularly in their respective areas.  The company desires to be known as one that remains in good standing within its communities through the spirit of giving.  Below highlights some of the recent activity that has taken place around the country

Community2.9At Utah State University, our Aggie Sports Properties team helps Bank of Utah remain an active part of the Cache Valle Community and local Habitat for Humanity effort.  For every point the Aggies scored during basketball season, Bank of Utah donated $1 to help build homes for people in the community.  During the 20 games played this past season, more than $1,500 went directly to the "Hoops for Homes" initiative to help with the building process.  Talk about a community partnership "netting" a difference for others.

As part of its 2010 BCA National Convention in Florida's St. Petersburg-Clearwater area, the Black Coaches & Administration host a free Youth Sports Development Clinic to provide area boys and girls fundamentals of football, basketball, swimming, soccer and tennis.  Through our BCA Properties team in Indianapolis, Learfield Sports' oversees marketing partnerships for the BCA, which has approximately 300 members.  BCA coaches graciously donate their time to help work with these kids, ages 8 to 13.

Our Clemson Tiger Sports Properties team recently helped out its community with a "Mammo for Dabo Dinner" breast cancer awareness promotion.  Ultimately, the message was to encourage women in the area to get mammograms, and if they were lucky enough, they would win a dinner with Clemson University head football coach Dabo Swinney and his wife, Kathleen.  The chance to have dinner with the Swinneys was enough incentive for some women who had never before had a screening.  All told, more than 300 women received mammograms at AnMed Health during the campaign, with 15 winning the Swinney dinner.  It was a success all around.

San Jose State University athletics corporate sponsor RBC Wealth Management recently shared its wealth with one of San Jose's most-deserving youth programs – the Bay Area After-School All-Stars that runs programs in 26 schools directly reaching over 2,600 students every day.  Our Spartan Sports Properties team worked closely with RBC to ensure the non-profit group was the recipient of the $2,500 charitable donation that was in the works all season long.  During pre-game ceremonies of the SJSU-Stanford baseball game in San Jose's Municipal Stadium on May 12, RBC Wealth Management presented the check to the Bay Area After-School All-Stars.

For the past several years, Cyclone Sports Properties and restaurant outfit Applebee's have leveraged a local community effort by working with Iowa State University coaches.  Click here to see a :30 second clip of Head Football Coach Paul Rhoads as he encourages area residents to remember to take advantage of Applebee's Carside To Go Service.  Not only do they go home with a delicious meal, but at the same time, help out the Children & Families of Iowa non-profit as well.
